Maunawili Falls

In our quest for new adventures here in Hawaii we found this beautiful but muddy hike. It is a good hike to a nice waterfall, but we didn't make it to the falls. We went 3/4 of the way and then turned back...it had been raining a LOT and the trail was ridiculously muddy. We brought Dyoji with us on this one and she did great, but I had on cruddy shoes for mud and steep decent. We crossed a stream/river 3 times and then we got to the part where there wasn't really a trail, you just were supposed to follow the stream bed, but it was a little too much for Robert carrying Roddy without a backpack thing and Dyoji was having a little bit of a hard time on all the slippery rocks. Sterling was upset that we didn't go all the way to the falls and started goofing off and promptly slipped and busted his shin really good. All in all it was nice and we are planning to revisit it when it's a little drier.....probably around June....
